Team Performance Profile

TheTeam Performance Profile is a measurement instrument designed to provide feedback to the team on six characteristics important to successful team interactions. These characteristics were identified through rigorous research conducted by Wilson Learning.

The profile focuses directly on those conditions controlled by the whole team. It examines the factors that impact team performance, including the processes teams use to select and accomplish tasks while maintaining interpersonal relationships.

This program is designed to be used as a stand-alone measurement system or in conjunction with the seminar program, the High-Performance Team Workshop.

Measurement Overview
The Team Performance Profile measures six characteristics of high-performing teams that fit within three basic dimensions of team interaction: Collaboration, Commitment, and Communication.

Collaboration

Functional diversity is the degree to which the team is composed of, or has access to, the right people
Creative diversity measures a variety of styles within the team and how well the team accesses the creative talents of its members
Rational process measures the extent to which a team addresses issues in a methodical manner

Commitment

Aligned on purpose measures how much agreement there is among team members on what to do
Shared norms measures agreement regarding the common values of the team

Communication

This dimension reinforces the effectiveness of both collaboration and commitment. Teams often need to develop collaboration and commitment before they are able to communicate successfully. A high level of trust is imperative to open, honest, and effective communication.

Feedback

The feedback from the Team Performance Profile is used by the team members and the team leader to improve team effectiveness. Worksheets are provided for each dimension and help move the team from the interpretation step to the decision step. The feedback addresses:

How the results compare to expectations
How the results compare to other teams' results
What the results say about the team's needs
What the team's current strengths and barriers are
What actions the team should consider
